Love the drawing, love the conversation, love the laughter and camaraderie!
I am inspired weekly by each of you, and what you bring to the class.
This week we talked a bit about composition.
We touched on the following:
- Symmetry, Asymmetry, and Balance
- Open and Closed design
- Triangle and Pyramid- wide base
- Rule of Thirds
- Harmony and Unity
- Flow, and leading the eye around the page
Reminder:
The homework this week is to create a still life composition that tells a story about a particular person. Choose someone near and dear to you and select items that you feel represent that person in some way. My example was a composition I painted of my two grandmas that included items from their dressing tables. I had forgotten that I did 2 of them... When I went to find the image for this post I found the 2nd one too :) Nice surprise for me. They are paintings, but it is the same compositional idea for a drawing.
Sadly, next week will be our last week!
I hope this class has inspired you to make a habit of drawing, and has given you a few new skills to practice. I also hope you will consider taking another class from me in the future, or another Ella Sharp class!
